This action is based on a multi- and interdisciplinary approach and will bring together scientists involved in water management, hydrology, urban planning and design, civil engineering, social sciences, construction engineering, ecology, etc. This action will mostly include applied and pragmatic research methodologies.
In order to reach the objectives the scientific programme envisages three clearly defined phases, each having its direct objectives, activities, and expected outputs: Phase 1: inventory of the state of the art of all relevant aspects and instruments of Urban Flood Management; The phase will address all scientific and technological aspects relevant to UFM; Phase 2: analysis and integration of common approaches and distillation of best practices and identification of gaps in knowledge; Phase 3: dissemination and consolidation of the research findings. The intended audience includes urban planners and managers, transport, energy and water system managers and engineers, telecommunication and emergency system providers, urban designers, green area planners and designers, structural and construction engineers, etc.
